“Should we say a few words on the hidden life of the glorious İstanbul, one of the oldest cities of the world, outside the reach of mainstream communication channels? Could we? Do we have an underground that develops alternatives for any kind of cultural production, or do we not? Are there people who live and produce underground? Who are the people willing to pay the price of living without the affirmation of the majority, and are capable of doing so?”

 

In search for answers to these questions, Intermezzo takes us on a night’s journey to the underground of İstanbul of the 1930s, to Fikret Adil’s Pera, to a world that dazzles with the magic of the underground, where all extremes are experienced and differences come together… 

 

In 2014, 34solo produced Intermezzo, 15’. Intermezzo premiered in Antalya International Golden Orange Film Festival. It also participated in Cannes Short Film Corner, Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival and Red Tulip Film Festival in 2015.
